How can I convert the handwriting (in the old school cards Rolodex) to a digital format? Business Card Scanner, perhaps?

I try to help someone to convert an entry of 600 + canned Rolodex where their names and numbers in a sort of digital system. Then transfer a type of PDA and other portable devices such as Blackberry. Please Please help me think about what you can scan and convert handwriting into digital format. Thank you very much.

This is what seems sarcastic, but this is not: pay someone to type in a spreadsheet or database for you. It is a classic opportunity to capture data and there many people who do this. The problem is that the Rolodex card information is unstructured and untreated and probably written in different pens, etc. and this will increase exponentially the difficulty of any OCR software recognizes handwriting. Net net is probably not worth the effort and cost of buying a scanner and software you need. Of course, always be a template worksheet, divide the 600 cards between 10 people and have them write on the worksheet model and then combine 10 spreadsheets for population density.
