My wireless card can not detect wireless networks / devices, what can I do?

I have some PC technician expierance and I think it is my network card. My modem and router are correctly configured and working properly but do not know why it can not detect any wireless networks and devices. Having regard to the diagnostic application ran but could not detect the error. I updated my wireless controller and I use the latest version. My Internet connection is working, I can not access the internet if my laptop is connected directly to the modem or the computer was connected to the wireless router is connected to the modem. My wireless card is on and says no conflict in Device Manager. Please help someone, I've done all you can think and live more in telephone support calls, all attempts have failed. Disconnect the wireless adapter on your computer (while off) and remove device drivers and other software that the wireless adapter installed. Check to be sure that the connection still works when using the network adapter on your computer. Stop and then install the wireless card. DO NOT use the CD or DVD that comes with the card. Let Windows manage my wireless card and let Windows install the driver if it was an option. To do this, even if you the computer connected to the Internet through the NIC.
